Akira Uchimura

is Nikkei Chilean. Born in Costa Rica with a Japanese father and a Chilean mother. Because of his father's job, he moved every 3 years from Paraguay, Bolivia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Japan, Suriname, Chile, and back to Japan. Currently he is radicated in Yokohama, working for the Association of Nikkei and Japanese Abroad as Project Manager for the activities of the Nikkei Scholars. As part of his job, he is working on creating the Association of Fellows and ex-Scholars of the Nippon Foundation Nikkei Scholarship.
