I am an Independent, a legal Immigrant from a socialist country, not illegal alien. Though, I think something has to done the law is the law. We have a bunch of politicians not living up to their oath. I think making legal Immigration and guest workers easier is necessary. I am also a believer in the constitution, I don't think ever in history it has been so abused ,attacked and ignored. I guess we can get rid of the supreme court as their job was to make sure the laws were constitutional. Maybe can save a few bucks now to pay for the extreme Czar's by firing the supreme court.

  • DHS Still Splitting Up Families Every Day
Roger commented on the article | almost 3 years ago

I believe that families should be together. I am an immigrant.I am now a citizen. I came here legally and went through all the process to maintain legal status.
Having worked in about 50 countries and lived in six, I have seen different systems for immigration and legal status, few welfare countries have been more leanent on Illegal aliens than the USA.
If as a parent, I was deported or had to move out of a country my children would go with me, there is no place to be other than with your parents.
In many countries the children take on the status of their parents or one of the parents. If one parent was a legal immigrant or citizen of the country the parent could take on the status of either parent and at the coming of AGE IN SOME COUNTRIES , 18 others 21 the child could chose for themselves which, country they would adopt as their legal citzenship. In some countries if you accept that as your country of citizenship you would have to go back and spend two years im the military on National service.

I believe the children should noy be punished for the crimes of the parents, but as in anything parents should take on and hold the responsibility of the children.

They should not be procescuted for being illegal aliens, they should not be seperated from their parents who have broken the laws of the land. They should go with their parents and at coming of age as they would have a US birth certificate they could ellect to come back to America. Parents should bring up their children not the government not the state.

Having worked in many countries in south and central ameriica, I found the fast majority of people I met, were very decent hard working and friendly people. I empathize with them and respect that their trying to do the best for their families. That is why I emigrated from a social welfare driven country, that was chocking the citizens. I wanted to be somewhere, where I could grow into my potential,I did not expect anything for nothing.

The problem I believe is more the employers, if they did not higher illegals they would not come, if they did not except forged documents, if they really need more people than they can find in the market place to fill jobs, (which I suspect is the case) they should have the ability to sponsor workers on a non discriminating basis from a number of countries around the world.

Let them come in legally on work visas as I did in a number of countries, do the job make some money, gain some experience and go home.If they have not committed any crimes and leave in good standing let them come back in again. Eventually this might lead to permanenet residency. I was in the USA for five years on legal visas, before I new I could stay permenently and legally. It was a pain not knowing but it was fair.
Tempoary workers should be the fair wage for the job and receive same pay and the benefits that any other legal citizen or resident would have. Voting is illegal for non citizens in certain elections and certainly it would not be wise for illegal aliens to vote in those elections or it would be another crime they have committed.
