Jeffrey Hellman

Jeffrey Karl Hellman is a craftsman of poetry, percussion, performance, and production. As a senior in high school Jeffrey was awarded an internship at Crossroads Films and a partial scholarship to Ithaca College’s Roy H. Park School for his film “Suppressed Freedom” from the Matthew S. Hisiger Film Foundation.

Now a graduate with a degree in Film, Photography, & Visual Arts B.F.A., he is a spokesperson for the International Campaign for Freedom of Aung San Suu Kyi and Burma, a producer for World Dharma’s Burma Project International, a filmmaker for the Burma Global Action Network, a filmmaker for the Coalition Against Trafficking in Women, an editor for MyPeace Media LLC., and a proud member for the US Campaign for Burma.

Jeffrey is currently co-producing/co-directing with filmmaker, Changhee Chun, Honoring Home, a feature length documentary about Burmese Freedom Fighter, U Han Lin and the plight of his homeland for MBC.

Burma's wounds have not been healed

Burma's wounds have not been healed,
Tortured, taken, forsaken, raped, repressed, burnt, buried, unacceptable, & unrevealed,
Forced child conscription,
Land mines surround village fires, the eviction,
Inhuman holocaust, a depiction,
Of a military pushed astray,
Why should Burma's people suffer the after effects of Senior General Than Shwe?
There needs to be a solution,
No substitution, a compassionate democracy, not dark dismay,
This in solidarity, I share with you all & pray,
That Burma's people can have peace,
Let peace be there to stay,
This is the reason I sign this petition,
Please be strong & seize the day,
In dynamic harmony to help the people of Burma,
Please join us in this chorus for change that help is on the way...

justice?
what is this?
what did davis do?
was there a photograph, video,
evidence, that proved this true?

voice of the masses,
of all different classes,
calling to stop this,
death penalty pain, blood stain,
it simply must not go through,

not on peace one day,
not by false dismay,
not by ill decree,
not by you or me,

supreme court deaf to this call?
justice blind, can’t see us all?
troy’s life, now on the line, join amnesty,
please grant his life some time, grant clemency!
