An old Friend of mine raised & kept 2-4 Pit Bulls for years and they were the best dogs - they were guard dogs - nobody was gonna break into that house and hurt that family, in that respect they could be dangerous.
But they we're lovable with friends of the family & well-behaved when there were guests in the house...They're powerful dogs and need to be raised responsibly - but paying fees for a registry is B.S. = It won't guarantee against accidents &/or People who are in the wrong -breaking in and getting hurt or whatever.
And, calling for liability insurance for pets is discriminatory & all sorts of things in the world are possibly dangerous, and messing with strange pit bulls is one of those things you shouldn't be doing - some folks learn that the hard way. No amount of insurance will stop idiots from getting them selves hurt - they'll get darwin awards.
If they can't even afford to feed them (=?)
Well, then they shouldn't be locking up so many damn people up in the first place! It's not Rocket Science were talking about here people - it's MUCH more expensive - and dangerous for all involved.
For the prisoners, the guards, and the public when (if?) they finish serving their time = After spending months or years going to "Boot Camp for Drug Users - 'looking for part-time career opportunities' & those seeking to become Full-time Professional Criminals!
It's long past the time to stop & put an end to the last 40 years of ("Tricky Dick") Nixon's Worst Presidential Idea Ever... Declared as the "war on drugs" in 1971 (ironically he started a "war on cancer" we could've probably solved if we had spent that $1 Trillion [and change] on the cancer war instead of the drug war!)
Nixon had to resign about 2-3 years later -- in the face of almost certain impeachment and removal from office. But, we've kept his 'tough on crime' politics going for 4 decades because it's always been seen as "a good issue" to be "strong on".
Politicians will never surrender an issue, never admit defeat, nor realize (and/or admit) that they'd set out to do the impossible - and call off the whole mess.
