Tent Cities Ripe With Controversy

Ugh. What they don't mention in the article from the Central Tampa News and Tribune is that Hillsborough County, where Tampa is located, only has enough emergency beds for 15% of the homeless population. So over 8,000 people have no options as far as a safe place to sleep at night.

Yeah it's a short term solution, but lots of people are working towards long term solutions and we need short term solutions for now. No Catholic Charities is not going to SOLVE the problem, but they're going to relieve a little bit of the pressure until the long term projects can be carried out.
