  Feral Cats in the Crosshairs

  Note that it is usually the Fish & Game people who are pushing to kill everything that moves.  Due to their poor management of wildlife (ie allowing hunting in the first place) they have destroyed most of their easy targets, so now they want to shoot your pets.  I have to go to a lot of their meetings, because they deal with issues involving wild cats (bobcats and cougars) and am always thoroughly disgusted.  Instead of dealing with the task they were assigned, which was to protect wildlife, they spend most of their time trying to figure out new ways to get children and women to hunt, so they can sell hunting permits and pay their salaries.  Giving kids (as young as 12 in some states) a permit to kill their neighbor's pets is just another of their atrocities. They only get away with this stuff because normal, right thinking people, can't stand to come to their meetings and listen to such sick ideas.  It is up to us who care about saving our planet to go and be informed and then make sure the Fish & Game department is staffed with people who care.  Carole Baskin, Big Cat Rescue Tampa, FL
