When I first met Doug Harper it was love at first site, a true sense of recognition-knowing this person in this lifetime, a meeting and greeting of our spirits before our minds could catch up with the experience. I learned Doug's goal was to write a book about people's reaction to meeting gay people. He made me look at myself. My wonderful self, who I thought was near perfect with my abundance of acceptance. He said when a straight person meets a gay person their thoughts immediately go to the bedroom, go to the privacy of that person. Well he has a huge point! Because straight people being introduced to other straight people do not think about that. Well not at first and maybe not at all. So why get into those thoughts because someone's orientation is different than yours? I am waiting for that book, Doug. I have always been a person who does not judge others for being different. But Doug inspires you to be even better than you think you are.
