    Tim,

Thank you for doing the research.  If I understand you right, you are saying the national health insurance option will be completely separate and not with any private health insurance company.  Like a government HMO with their own list of doctors and participating hospitals.  At 4K a year and only at that price could I do this - but it would still cut into retirement saving which is big catch up game for me right now.  $45K in San Francisco is peanuts by the way with $1000 studios in the worst part of town.  Like I say, it barely pays to work, but I am going to have to work until I am no longer employable at all.  Thanks again for the information. There is always a possibility that I can be hired as a regular employee unless the job market remains depressed and we are having a jobless recovery so far.  I am a little less depressed.

I don't have insurance now because I can't afford it.  What I am asking is will I still not be able to afford it under this plan, but have to pay the fine anyway.

No matter where I go, I never find details pertinent to the individual.  Could someone please tell me what the House Democrat plan will cost me?  If I make $45,000 a year, I understand I am not eligible for any "credits" to offset costs.  That's lower middle class in San Francisco.  That I know.  I know I will pay a fine if I don't join.  How much will that fine be?  If I do join, how much will I pay a month and what will be covered and what not covered?  Will it be less expensive for me just to pay the fine and go without and hope nothing goes wrong with my health?  Is the public option going to be a like a federal HMO or a basket of regular old insurance company crap to chose from?  Give me some answers that work for me and I will support this otherwise not.  I can't find detail answers anywhere just blown out rhetoric.  No wonder this isn't getting broad support.

I see nowhere to vote on this site.  What's up with that?  Maybe I don't have flash.  Any ideas or info?
