Vilas Bhuchar

Born in Houston,TX. Raised in a suburb, Sugar Land, right outside Houston. Lived in Austin for five years while attending the University of Texas - hook 'em! Then headed to Brooklyn, NY, where I lived for four years. At the tender age of 27, I've come full circle and landed back at my parents' house in Sugar Land. Yikes.

I've finally reached a point where I'm actually interested in building a more stable, long-term career, maybe even buy a cozy, little house in a few years. Whoa.

At the same time, I want to stay young at heart and find causes that I both believe in and can hopefully build a career off of. Currently, the causes pulling me in most are pushing for a U.S. single-payer healthcare system and helping to build a green-collar economy in the U.S. (see Van Jones' book, Green-Collar Economy).
