I work every day with families that are involved in some way or another with the criminal system. We fail to be a country of freedom when the checklist becomes more important than the person. The statistic and the number tend to drive the decisions, and good solutions never make it to the table because it was not on the list of choices.
@Mark: While I am glad you experienced some decent ones, I have had a heck of a time dealing with my Post Traumatic Stress Disorder from the assault I encountered from the not so decent ones. There was also not a soul to report it to. I forgive today, but I cannot forget that the way things are situated right now, it is impossible to find justice. I am glad you have been out and helping others and may be in a state where more eyes are on their behavior.
