I signed the petition, but it's just an exploitation horror flick folks, like there's been thousands over the years... Are you going to boycott Godzilla because it exploits victims of nuclear bomb tests in the Pacific? Let's get real here. Honestly, any attention Chernobyl and its victims get in the media, is ultimately helpful in mobilizing the resources necessary to, we hope, put a stop to the use of this antiquated and ultra-dangerous form of electricity generation. Nothing crosses the line in Hollywood, that's the point, that's entertainment. Get over it.
We've had our own petition to close Indian Point up for weeks, please sign ours as well, thank you: http://www.change.org/petitions/nuclear-regulatory-commission-shut-down-the-indian-point-nuclear-plant
This petition is deceptive, and the people who signed it are sheeple!
I signed this petition because it was the only way to leave a comment. I wanted to say I find targeting Trader Joe's for this practice unfair. Over and over in this comment thread we learned of Trader Joe's already participating in food programs in their communities. The fault isn't the markets but laws in local municipalities that prohibit giving away out of date food! The planet is awash with nuclear distasters, threatening the very survival of the human species. Can't you see this petition is there to help promote a movie which for all we know staged these dumpster diving scenes? Who would be crazy enough to eat spoiled meat? I'm sorry, but this feels like the CIA is sponsoring another distraction, and I don't mean the Culinary Institute of America.
