I worked my tail off to help get Pres. Obama elected, and to have Prop 8 rejected (clearly that part was unsuccessful). I have my BA in Political Science and would like to return to school to pursue my Master's in Social Work and a JD in a dual program from San Diego State University and Cal-Western School of Law.

Despite being single, and 39 years old, I believe that it is important for me to fight for marriage equality not only here in California, but also on the national level. I know that there will come a day when I find Mr. Right again, and would like our family to be recognized by our government as a true family unit free from the current institutionalized discrimination ingrained in our government.

Oh and Alice, I know your type likes to refer to Catholic Charities who were "forced" to close their adoption services in Massachusetts, Chicago, etc. because of their unwillingness to "compromise" on their beliefs.

This is patently false! The cities/states canceled the contracts (which also included TAXPAYER funding) they held with Catholic Charities. There is NOTHING requiring a state or city to do business with these organization. And because this organization discriminated, while using taxpayer money, the cities and states have decline to use that organization.

What are you talking about, Alice? You just get done saying that you want to be a "Christian" first and "Citizen" second. You are more than welcome to be a so-called "Christian" first so long as it doesn't trample on ANYONE else's rights! Secondly, what you ARE advocating, whether you understand it or not, is to turn this country into a theocracy.

Why can't homosexuals just agree to disagree by not bringing up lawsuits? Seriously? If I kicked you out of my restaurant because you are a Christian you would be bitchin' and moanin' and filing a lawsuit immediately! It really is that simple, Alice! You CANNOT have it both ways.
