I grew up in the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church, and will never go back. However, I have enjoyed the ELCAs. So, I was all ready to post like Heather did above. It's like they are 2 totally different churches.

Jesus would never advocate spanking anyone, and neither would the God of my understanding.

We can believe in a Higher Power, without attributing these dysfunctions. I believe people who adhere to this kind of life style use religion to justify their own sick will. "MY will be done" or a you get a spanking". There aren't too many churches that would endorse this thinking.

Mark O...are you an insurance agent? lol Insurance companies are not on the side of regular people who need to get well. More insurance companies is not that answer. We need affordable health care for EVERYONE. No exclusions. The CEO and the bum on the street....get the same diseases. They both need medical attention.
