How is Canada exporting a deadly substance such as asbestos any different than the United States exporting cigarettes across the world. It's not a secret either that cigarettes kill. "Tell Canada that it's time to quit trading lives for profit overseas." Yeah, nice sounds pretty hypocritical to me. In the United States alone cigarettes kill more people than AIDS, heroin, cocaine, crack, alcohol, car accidents, fire, and murder combined. Yet tobacco receives government subsidies and is one of the most profitable businesses worldwide. While this is an outrage that Canada can get away with exporting asbestos, maybe its time to for a little self-examination.
