I am working with a group of concerned citizens in Summit County, Ohio to build Valor Home.  This campus will include a facility for transitional housing and permanent supportive housing for our homeless veterans.  We all must support our veterans.  Volunteer or organize a homeless facility.

Prohibition strikes a blow at the base of the values from which this country was founded.  Individual freedom is our right and until this "drug war" is brought to an end our government is the root cause civil unrest.

Taking care of our homeless veterans has become a priority for a few concern citizens in Summit County Ohio.  We have a facility in nearby Portage County called Freedom House.  This transitional housing facility not only gives our veterans a place to call home but helps them with their VA paperwork, health care, employment, integration back into society, becoming self sufficient, and permanent housing.  This wonderful facility is the model we plan to follow in Summit County.  We are currently awaiting grant approval from the VA Grant and Per Diem program, if this grant does not get awarded to us we are already working on Plan B.  We have a very dedicated Executive Board and we have land donated for the facility from the City of Akron. Future plans will also include a facility for female veterans and their dependants.  Our facility will be called Valor Home and we are very excited to be giving back to our veterans in Ohio.

  • Can Obama End Veteran Homelessness?

There is a veterans transitional housing facility in Kent, Ohio called Freedom House.  This facility not only provides shelter but helps with getting benefits from the VA, becoming self-sufficient, permanent housing, employment opportunities and training, and becoming a productive member of the community.  The success of this facility has prompted the citizens of Summit County Ohio to open one in Akron.  We already have land donated and are waiting to hear if our grant is approved.  This facility will be called Valor Home and we are very excited to be taking care of our homeless veterans in Ohio.
