Freedom Watch is the best show on Fox, bar none. Without Freedom Watch, I really have no reason to watch any Fox programming.

Elizabeth, that's an interesting link. Lots of good info there. I'm amazed at the number of "experts" there on on this subject. I constantly hear things like "The science is unmistakable" or "The scientific community agrees" and neither statement is true. There are people who have devoted their entire lives to this subject that still can't say for certain if humans are having any affect at all on a supposed warming trend... and yet it seems like every Joe Schmoe in the U.S. has an opinion about it.

If global warming *is* real, I don't think the antics of Al Gore are helping. The fact that the data he uses has had to change so many times doesn't bode well for his message. It's also not comforting that he's made tens of millions of dollars selling this idea.

I remain on the fence, and just do what I can to reduce my own pollution. It think that's a good thing no matter what. Anyone that tells me they KNOW it real or they KNOW it's a hoax are, in my IMHO, too ignorant to talk to about this subject.

    Thanks for the link.

John, I was making a statement, not a contradiction, for the benefit of future readers. In my experience, most people don't know the difference between the 2 types of diabetes. I've seen the term "juvenile onset diabetes" (the term I used above) used many times to denote type II diabetes that occurs at a very young age.

The purpose of my post was to let people know that, in children who have type II diabetes, medical science is not required to correct the problem. I don't see any reason to be so condescending.

Juvenile onset diabetes is already easily cured with a simple dietary change.  Take the bulk of the sugar, and especially high fructose corn syrup out of the child's diet and watch miracles happen.  I've personally seen it happen many times.  There's no reason to get "medical science" involve when common sense will suffice.

Type I diabetes is a different story.

Laura, the answer is not to give away the cure at production cost. The answer is to level the playing field and allow food producers to make true claims about their food, like the fact that nutrients in tart cherries have been shows to reduce the risk of cancer.

Current law states that only drugs or surgery can legally be said to prevent or cure disease. It's a law that needs to be changed, because of how obviously absurd it is.  This change should have been part of the sweeping legislation of the Obama administration, but he's not really that interested in change.  It's just a talking point.

American medicine will not see a cure for cancer because American medicine will not allow a cure for cancer.  There's no money in a cure.  The closest thing to a cure America will see any time soon is a regimen that just keeps the patient alive longer with the cancer in tact.

The cure for cancer was discovered over 70 years ago.  Dr. Otto Warburg was wildly successful in his treatment of cancer.  He was awarded a Nobel Prize for his efforts, and would have been awarded a second had he not been living in Germany during WWII.  To understand how to fight cancer, you have to understand cancer cell respiration, which most oncologists do not.

It's a sad state we're in when someone has been to multiple physicians about their prostate cancer only to be told that it was so advanced that there's nothing that can be done, only to find someone that knows a thing or two about nutrition show them how to completely reverse the cancer.  I've seen advanced stage cancer cured by simple life style changes.  Once the patient understands that cancer is not a bully, but rather is there for a reason, the cancer becomes easier to fight, most often completely without medical assistance.

Sadly, similar can be said for every other item on this wish list.  Alzheimer's has a distinct connection with insulin resistance. If you want to lower your triglycerides, try eating less fructose, and less sugar in general. You want a safe and effective blood thinner?  Try drinking some water.

It's disgraceful that medical science turns its back on these easy, effective methods of boosting health just because they don't produce a profit.

Kathleen, if you really want to do something, get the word out about Ron Paul.  He and his son Rand Paul are the only politicians I've ever seen that actually understand that government subsidies are weakening this country.  Under Dr. Paul's plan, we would actually have enough income into the government to pay down our national debt while, at the same time, eliminating the IRS.  Most people think it can't be done, but when you start talking about a total restructuring of our current government spending, it's actually pretty easy.

There's a good chance he's going to run for the white house again in 2012.  If we have a country left by then, we need him to run it.
