  • What's In It for Me? (At $45,000 a Year.)

Tim, do you know what the annual cost would be for a family of three making $50,000 a year?

    Thanks.

So Tim, what are the subsidies for people in that $43,000 - $88,000 (for a family of four) income?  By my calculations, someone who makes $45,000 a year will have to pay $5400 a year for their insurance which is $450 a month.

If I could afford that much money for insurance, I would have it!  And is this plan going to force everyone to buy it whether they want it or can afford it or not?

Like I said in my last post: My problem is how it will be paid for and that it be done right.  Ramming a program down our throats just to get it passed NOW without enough research on outcomes is just not the way to go."

Why is it that you don't respond to my real concern here?  I'm not arguing with you that we need universal health care. I'm arguing with the need to ramrod some under researched tax and spend plan down our throats NOW.  I'd like to see something patterned after France or Germany.  They are ranked up at the top.

You obviously don't live in California because if you did, you'd know that the "impoverished" have plenty of health care and most not only use it, but abuse it.

And most of the "impoverished" people in this State live better then I do, with welfare, HUD, food stamps, medi cal etc. etc. etc.  It's the working poor and a lot of the middle class in this State that don't have it because it's too expensive.  I didn't have health insurance for 15 years.  So believe me, I know what's it like not to have it and not to be able to afford it.

I just want to see a well thought out plan....  not the typical unthought out, no common sense, full of pork type of plan that our government tends to saddle this country with.  Now why does that make me so wrong?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Health_care_in_Canada  Wikipedia has a very unbiased description of the pros and cons of Canada's health care system.  And a comparison between the U.S. and several other countries.  I think it's important to scroll down to the criticism section.

    http://www.angelfire.com/pa/sergeman/issues/healthcare/socialized.html

This article is obviously biased, but there are good articles and sites that show that socialized medicine has a lot of problems...  the biggest one being the ability to actually get the care and the long wait times.  This is a huge complaint in Canada as well.

    http://www.city-journal.org/html/17_3_canadian_healthcare.html

This is a well written, unbiased article, by a Canadian citizen.

The point here is that there are some big problems that won't be solved and could be increased by having a system similar to Canada's.  Canada, by the way, is ranked 30th in health care in the world with the U.S. not far behind at 37th.

And infant mortality is 5.4 for Canada and 6.9 for the U.S.  If you compare adult mortality rates for different types of cancer, the U.S. is actually lower.

I have said before that I am FOR health care reform in this Country.  And everyone should have access to health care and health insurance.

My problem is how it will be paid for and that it be done right.  Ramming a program down our throats just to get it passed NOW without enough research on outcomes is just not the way to go.

All you have to do is google "Peta kills" and you will get hundreds of sites that verify this information.  Here is one: www.newsweek.com/id/134549   The president of PETA has admitted that their agenda is to do away with ANY animal ownership so that ALL animals are free including companion pets.

You can also google "HSUS fraud" and you will get hundreds of sites that verify their egregious misuse of funds.  Like the millions they solicited from donations to help rehome lost Katrina animals that they spent on something else.

There is plenty of information about their hypocrisy and their duplicity on the internet.  One only has to look for it.

You can go to www.care2.com and read blogs on animal welfare and even most of the vegans there will tell you about PETA and HSUS including Unpopular Vegan Essays.

You didn't take anything away from me.  The truth is the truth and the facts are out there for anyone who cares to look.  You just showed that being right is more important to you than the truth. And mocking me just shows that you are a jerk.
