This is what ND needs to focus on:  giving people with mental "differences" a better quality of life.  And to do that you need to ignore the silly stuff, such as boycotting Autism Speaks.

If you are able to give people with autism an excellent quality of life than perhaps all of the "curebies" will begin to agree with you once they see the work you have done to provide a good quality of life for their children.

It is just a sad reality that many people with autism still have a poor quality of life.  You should focus on fixing that, regardless of anything else.

People who do not agree with your philosophy will have much better respect for you if you make real changes to the lives of people with autism and other disorders.  Don't focus so much on "anti-cure;" even people who want a cure know it isn't going to happen anytime soon and by promoting such things, like boycotting chocolate companies, makes you look really bad in the eyes of others.

Many people with autism need help NOW and this is what you should focus on.  If you focus on this the future will take care of itself.

Yes.  Getting services as an adult autistic adult has proven to be impossible, at least for me.  I still have about 8 months to even get EVALUATED for services and then another wait until I actually recieve them.

As I recieve SSI and have Medicaid I can only go so many places and see so many people, which is why I will spend the rest of my life on waiting lists.

I would start planning for your child's future now or he may end up in an autistic services limbo like I am.
