There is no quality research to support "wandering" as a diagnosis and many ways such a diagnosis would lead to abuse.
Studies show that the vast number of children later diagnosed with autism have a history of having been born. Therefore, birth is the #1 leading cause of autism.
Other causes of autism may include having a pulse, and breathing oxygen. (OMG It's AIRBORNE!!!!!)
I think that depends more on the individual student than the teacher, Kristina. I took several years of french, and while I could have just memorized things for the tests, I really wanted to learn the language, so I put in the extra effort. I was never fluent, but I still retain much of what I learned, 7-10 years later! l On the other hand, in math, I always just memorized everything for the test, then forgot it right afterwards. I did this on purpose; I didn't like math and didn't want to learn it. It shows: I don't remember any of the "math" (see: random numerals that make no sense) that once upon a time earned me straight A's.
Most criminal prisoners are treated better than this! It is just disgusting. Research must be done on how to properly care for Luke and people with similar difficulties. This is what quality-of-life research needs to solve! My heart goes out to his parents who can't stand to see him living in these conditions but have no other choice. It simply is not right.
