  1 Million Against Amendment 1

  Because as a social worker, I have worked with at least 20 women (this year alone) who are now even more vulnerable because of this amendment...they are primarly young (straight, by the way) mothers, who bravely took the legal steps to protect themselves and their children from their perpetrators.

  Because as a wife, I feel ashamed that all committed couples dont share the same legal protections as my husband and I.

  Because as a citizen of North Carolina, I believe this amendment is a very poor reflection of who we are and how far we have come.
