Milt Hetrick is a semi-retired scientist/aerospace engineer. Early in his professional career, he was among several hundred thousand others, who each played a small part in a large constructive human endeavor to place people on the moon and return them safely.
Seeing first hand how complex goals can be accomplished when humans work together cooperatively leaves no doubt in his mind that the U.S. can create an effective Dept. of Peace and Nonviolence. He enjoys applying the concept that the Peacefulness of a society can be measured by its absence of violence and presence of opportunity (to reach one’s positive potential.)
He devotes his spare time to activism for a U.S. Department of Peace (e.g. envisioning and modeling how the Department would add value locally), providing technical support to organizations involved in constructive conflict management, researching family history, restoring a 1930 Model A Ford, homemaking with his wife, and walking the dog.
