I currently serve as Executive Director of the U.S. Association for the University for Peace (UPEACE/US). Prior to working with UPEACE/US, I worked at Xi'an Teachers College in China as an American classroom pedagogy professor. In 2004, I helped to start what has become a very successful NGO called the Genocide Intervention Network (GI-NET). GI-Net empowers everyday citizens with tools to stop genocide. My family and I have also started an institute for Charles University students in the Czech Republic called Prague Security Studies Institute (PSSI). PSSI focuses on issues of national security, international relations, and sustainable energy-use.
I received my B.A. from Swarthmore College with honors degrees in both English Literature and Education and my M.A. in Education for Peace from the United Nations mandated University for Peace.
