Before moving to Gwinnett County I was a resident of DeKalb for 30 years. I was a volunteer at the shelter for about one year until the director called me into her office and told me I was not to return to the shelter. Why? Because I kept writing to officials about the CRUEL and DEPLORABLE conditions at the woefully inadequate shelter. On my last day of volunteering a tiny stray white poodle was brought in. The shamefully small shelter was already over crowded with strays. The staff put him in a pen with many other dogs - one of whom kept attacking him. I asked for the poodle to be move and the officer told me there was no where else to put him. That poodle was attacked again and dead within 24 hours of coming into DeKalb Animal Services because the shelter was too small for one more toy poodle. DeKalb has promised it's citizens a new shelter way back when Vernon Jones was CEO. And the commissioners continue to turn a blind eye and deaf ears to the horrible suffering their inaction is directly responsible for creating and maintaining.
Freedom of speech is for everyone - not just money grubbing, chicken killing, heart disease inducing corporations.
Parsons is a liar as well as a cold blooded killer.
