I have been fascinated by politics since the Reagan vs Carter election. In particular, I find the false dichotomies that arise from our two party system particularly interesting since they usually blind people to real solutions to real problems. This is why I call myself a moderate: not sitting the fence, but seeing the path between that others fail to see due to entrenchment.

This issue of slavery hits many topics. It's not just a devaluation of human life (that somehow so many people seem to be able to stomache), it's also a primary factor in demolishing our economy. Multinational corporations, imaginary citizens, have no moral imperative but to make profit. They replace U.S. workers with slaves thanks to NAFTA and other "free trade" agreements that allow the circumvention of our labor laws, not the least of which being the 13th Amendment to our own Constitution! I knew even back when NAFTA was proposed that it was a problem (I wrote a college paper based on congressional records research back in the early 90s) and Ross Perot was right about the devastating economic impact of it on Americans, but the massive resurgence of slavery has been a shock.
End slavery! End NAFTA! Stop CAFTA! End the abombination!
I call on all freedom-loving Americans to demand that we live up to Lincoln's promise in more than just words, but deeds as well.
