I have Asperger's syndrome, and I cannot function on my own, without help. The DSM-V wants to take that help away from me.
I'm autistic and was enraged by this story. We are not freaks; we are not 'being bad' just to be bad most of the time. We don't understand things, and when people don't help, it's frustrating and scary. If someone doesn't understand us, they shouldn't be working with young autistics ... this world damages us enough.
Chik-fil-a is greedy, hateful and homophobic. They need to stop trying to bully good honest small businesses, and they need to stop contributing to anti-gay hate groups.
I want to know what immigration judge worth his salt didn't see this as a viable reason to grant asylum. Sexual orientation is not on the list of asylum grounds, but that's simply not a good reason. Countless stories from countless credible sources can show a very real threat of persecution if this man is returned to his home country, and if the decision was made over an insufficient showing of past persecution, I don't think that hiding to save one's life is a "lack" of persecution. Whichever judge denied asylum on this case ought to be reprimanded.
