Marc commented on the article |This is getting ridiculous. The war on drugs needs to end before all of South America collapses into a civil war. As I see it, the problem isn't with them, it's with the United States paying the country governments millions of dollars to fund their war on drugs. But the problem is that drugs are their main exports, it's what creates money and jobs for them. I can't stand the idea that we're willing to actually sacrifice lives that aren't our own, for our personal gain.

Marc commented on the article |I have to agree with Kelly White, the only way to stop the expanding jails is to stop the drug war. There are over 20 million people in jail right now for possession of marijuana, and according to a statistic there is, in this country, one marijuana arrest every 36 seconds. (90% of those arrests are for mere possession, not drug trafficking). If you want to stop the spread of jails, we need to focus on whats putting the majority of people in them.
