We need a case before the U.S. Supreme Court that will do for citizens who prefer a same-sex union what the Loving case in 1967 did for citizens who prefered an "opposite"-race union. This will end all this state-by-state nonsense.
So, we should send Rick Warren to an isolation camp because he doesn't believe exactly what we believe? And we should send Obama there, too, for not doing exactly what we want him to do? Come one, diversity means just that -- diversity.
Seems to me that Obama is a creation of and a reflection of our great diverse country. Why must he cow-tow to everything the gay community wants? Since when did the gay community become a monolith? Since when did the gay community seek the right to dictate every move and decision of the president? Obama may be the best president we've had in our lifetimes. Let the guy lead. Let the guy figure it out. Let the guy alone. Stop judging him at this early date. Give him a year to show who President Obama is, then if necessary let the criticisms begin.

It's regretful that so many of the posts here seem to be hate-filled. How is it that those who oppose hate from the other side so easily slip into hate and vitriol themselves?
The president-elect likes Rick Warren, feels comfortable with him, and respects his spirituality. The president-elect has every right to choose whom he wishes for the inaugural prayer. I am gay. I support absolute equality under all laws -- including marriage laws. But I am not bothered by Rick Warren saying a prayer. Not at all.
