    Rootscamp 2008: Women Are the Target Market – Not the Niche Market

    Thanks Jen,  for sharing some compelling stats to illustrate that power-purchasing women are also the social fabric of our communities - online and off. The internet is the great leveler, helping women claim their voice and their due power. Not only do moms with kids have higher volunteer rates than other groups, working women volunteer the most. 

    I founded VolutneerSpot.com to address the needs of active, involved women and simplify the 'little hassles' of coordinating volunteers.  We offer a free, accessible volunteer scheduling and signup tool for PTA, Scouts, neighborhood leaders and community nonprofits.  This past election season, we powered voter registration and Get Out the Vote drives. VolunteerSpot is an excellent example of a marketing micro-route to reaching women while helping build stronger communities.
