The Invisible Dead:
The grisly truth about the Super Bowl abortion ad. (from Slate)
Focus on the Family, an interest group opposed to abortion, will air a 30-second commercial featuring Tebow and his mother, Pam.
Pam's story certainly is moving. But as a guide to making abortion decisions, it's misleading. Doctors are right to worry about continuing pregnancies like hers. Placental abruption has killed thousands of women and fetuses. No doubt some of these women trusted in God and said no to abortion, as she did. But they didn't end up with Heisman-winning sons. They ended up dead.
Being dead is just the first problem with dying in pregnancy. Another problem is that the fetus you were trying to save dies with you. A third problem is that your existing kids lose their mother. A fourth problem is that if you had aborted the pregnancy, you might have gotten pregnant again and brought a new baby into the world, but now you can't. And now the Tebows have exposed a fifth problem: You can't make a TV ad.
Ganjawar: Prison Slave Labor, Rape & Pillage Deterrent
It is legal in the United States to use slave labor. The 13th Amendment of the Constitution states that "neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted shall exist within the United States."
Nixon Lie Keeps on Killing
The slave labor for corporations, prison paraphernalia is a multi billion dollar biz. Private prison construction. Haliburdon food catering service. Jumpsuits and flip flops for 2.2 million! Blackwater security, Guns billyclubs, mace and bullets and hiring more guards. Plus keeping the prohibition prices high enough to bring violence or to resell the evidence. Confiscation's, homes forfeitured, kids removed for foster care profits. Selling the tools of the trade. Just burn the Constitution and Take over the media. Wall street's Spontaneous Abortionists
The study found strong evidence that a woman’s exposure to pesticides in the three months prior to conception or in the month of conception significantly increased her risk of spontaneous abortion.
Preconception exposure to the pesticides glyphosate, atrazine, carbaryl, and 2,4-D increased relative risk of spontaneous abortion by 20-40%. Risks were even higher for women exposed to pesticides at age 35 or older and for women exposed to pesticide mixtures.
Switching cotton fields to hemp fields would improve: the quality of our soil, the durability of our clothes, the safety of our ground source water, the quality of our air, and the preservation of forests cut for paper (not to mention saving hundreds of thousands of lives prematurely ended by disease caused by pollution)
These pesticides wash into streams and rivers, destroying eco-systems and poisoning human water supplies. Today the water supplies of many large cities are contaminated. Many of the vegetables we eat and clothes we wear contain pesticide residues. Hemp is a perfect sustainable raw material for thousands of products. Textiles, cosmetics, building materials, fuel and food can all be made from hemp.

According to the U.S. EPA, MSMA "can reasonably be anticipated to cause cancer in humans" and is converted in the environment to inorganic arsenic, a known human carcinogen. Sentencing set for June 11, 2009
10:00 AM in Los Angeles.
Request for New Trial Denied
Charles C. Lynch is the former owner and managing Caregiver for Central Coast Compassionate Caregivers in Morro Bay.
Despite the recent policy changes Charles C. Lynch was to be sentenced on April 23, 2009 at the Federal Court House in Los Angeles, but Judge Wu continued the sentencing until June 11, 2009 to give defense lawyers more time to provide legal briefings to get around the Mandatory Minimums. Judge Wu indicated that if he could get around the mandatory minimums he would but still cannot find legal standing.
Medical Pot Grower Eddy Lepp Gets 10 Years
A medical-marijuana advocate who grew 32,000 plants on his land in Lake County was sentenced to 10 years in prison Monday by a federal judge who criticized the law she was applying.
"I think that amount of time is excessive, but it's not up to me," U.S. District Judge Marilyn Hall Patel said in sentencing Charles "Eddy" Lepp in a San Francisco courtroom crowded with his supporters.

Heston died, NRA's Mandatory Minimum didn't
"There are only two ways to avoid a mandatory minimum sentence. First, the defendant may provide 'substantial assistance' to the government by turning in other defendants.
Second, some defendants qualify for the 'safety valve' that Congress passed in 1994 to address (at FAMM’s urging) the excessive sentences served by non-violent drug offenders. If the judge finds the defendant is a low-level, non-violent, first-time offender who qualifies for the safety valve, the defendant may be sentenced under the sentencing guidelines instead of the mandatory minimum sentence law.
Although the safety valve is a step in the right direction, the criteria for eligibility is very narrow so thousands of nonviolent drug defendants are still sent to prison for decades under mandatory minimum sentencing laws."

How FIJA Saved My Life! By D. Paul Stanford
Source: CRRH December 19, 1999
The Fully Informed Jury Act (FIJA) saved my life and I'm happy to be a free man here today to tell this story. I am both the founder of Tree Free EcoPaper, the oldest hemp business in the USA today, and one of the activists that formulated a proposal to regulate cannabis, the Oregon Cannabis Tax Act, that is being advanced via the initiative process in Oregon by our PAC, Campaign for the Restoration and Regulation of Hemp. I was acquitted of growing marijuana in federal court in a trial in December of 1993. continued...

The primary function of the independent juror is not, as many think, to dispense punishment to fellow citizens accused of breaking various laws, but rather to protect fellow citizens from tyrannical abuses of power by government.

Scott Morgan has a good piece up What's So Funny About Trying to Legalize Marijuana? where he takes issue with people like William Teach at Stop the ACLU who mock those looking to legalize marijuana and then essentially agree that pot should be legalized. It's a syndrome that we see quite a bit.

Native Americans Religious Rights Denied (excerpts)
24-02-2009
The county sheriff then got in Crandy’s face: “Just stand here and shut the fuck up! We don’t give a fuck about your religious rights!”
Two Native American brothers whose crops were raided last summer passionately disagree – because the name of their tribe, Tuscarora, literally translates to “People of the Hemp.”
The boat people – these citizens of the United States – came here to escape religious persecution,” he says. “But when they got here from Europe, they started persecuting what they call our pagan religion!” ~ Crandy Johnson, a roadman (ceremonial leader) in the Native American Church
What can never be disputed is the fact that the Tuscarora have been known as the “People of the Hemp” for centuries – long before the invaders arrived. In fact, the name evolved from the Iroquoian word skaru’ren (“hemp gatherers”), bestowed because of the tribe’s gathering and use of Indian hemp for fiber. In Joseph Campbell’s authoritative volume The Way of the Seeded Earth, the Tuscarora are noted to have used hemp for “medicine” as well.

INDIAN HEMP AND THE DOPE FIENDS OF OLD ENGLAND
Sean Blanchard & Matthew J. Atha MSc
A sociopolitical history of cannabis and the British Empire 1840-1928
When the report of the Indian Hemp Drugs Commission (IHDC) reached 1890's England it met official and public apathy. There was no political debate. It went into the 'forget about this' file on arrival and has stayed there ever since. There was no publicity; The news that "Ganja is not appreciably harmful" was of no concern to the majority of users, who took cannabis products for their medical benefits. The non-medical users were mostly artists who didn't mind a little harm. Prohibitionist sentiment was concentrated on the opium trade between India and China and on alcohol at home. Cannabis use in England was considered negligible, and the authorities were content to have no laws at all controlling it for another thirty years. continued...

DWR: Drug Czar Kerlikowske testified on the budget yesterday.
I may have more on this later. It was a bit.. odd. I felt like I needed to be reading between the lines at times. Sure, there was a lot of the standard stuff that a drug czar would say in such a presentation (justifying all the budget items with the drug war language of the past), but then there were statements like this:
There continues to be much discussion in the media about whether personal use of drugs should be decriminalized. What we cannot lose sight of during this discussion, is that we all agree addiction is a preventable and treatable chronic condition.
Notice the use of a non-sequitur instead of denunciation, and the offhand acceptance of the idea of discussion.
He also made another statement that we need to hold up to him whenever possible:
During my tenure, debate will be continuous and inclusive of disparate ideas.

The Drug Czar speaks... and dances
ONDCP Director Gil Kerlikowske was interviewed this morning on KUOW in Seattle.
The audio is available here. It's a nice extended interview, and gives you a chance to get to know Kerlikowske's style a little bit. It's a mixed bag, with lots of pretty offensive stuff (of course) and some odd material where he puts on his tap shoes and dances up a storm.
Here are a couple of the exchanges...
Note: After the interview, the interviewer took questions from listeners. I didn't listen to all of them, but there were some very good ones who really nailed Kerlikowske on his points (including one who apparently had read The Drug Czar is required by law to lie and referenced the provisions.

These DEAth Merchants and War Brokers have no humanity in their bottom line. We would harp on any foreign country terrorizing the elderly and sick. Instant demonizing, profiled and plastered over the media. But no deviating from the manual for terrorizing our own finding aid with Ganja. So many red flags not seen or censored. Stories hidden in hopes of being forgotten, who in the hell do they think they're kidding? Ganja is or Ganja isn't. Physics says it is. Debates over.
DEAth lies are a means to a semi-religious duty of a kind of puritanical unattainable goal of perpetuating profits maintaining dysfunction. The dirty DEAty use violence intimidation and degradation to cleanse the loyal masses. I sincerely don't advocate violence on these liars and scum, not that I give a damn about their safety. They deserve the gallows along with Boosheney Klintoongord and their administrations torturing Ganja users either Psychologically or Physically. Including Oblamo's DNC ditto's and rehashed Klintoonians. I don't advocate violence because they have all the big guns and I hate cages. Why is the DEA terrorizing sick people? We've lost 40 members this year, and that number will increase because of this raid,
~ Diana Dodson
"Yes, we still survive the DEA's raid and American injustice. We were raided Sept. 5 at 6:50 am. However, that's just a minor interference by the federal government into the lives of sick and dying people. No injustice will keep us from our work, no injustice will stop the truth."
During the Sept. 5 raid, 20 gun-toting DEA agents, led by Patrick Kelly, stormed the WAMM property, arresting a pajama-clad Corral and husband Michael before razing 130 marijuana plants to the ground with chain saws. DEA agents destroyed WAMM's 2002 crop, thus depriving the cooperative's 238 members of the medicine they use to treat AIDS, cancer, epilepsy and other fatal and highly painful disorders.
"This is an act of violence under guise of the law,"
~ Joe Wouk,

"56 percent of all people using illegal drugs are using marijuana. Legalizing marijuana would create a chink in the DEA's armor, a lot of budgets would go south. That's why they don't care how many sick people are hurt by this."

Peter McWilliams, 50, best selling author, poet, photographer, publisher, libertarian crusader, medical marijuana activist, AIDS patient and cancer survivor, was found dead on the floor of his bathroom, apparently having choked to death after vomiting, for want of medical marijuana.
There will be an autopsy, but whatever the immediate cause of death may have been, he was murdered by the United States Government as surely as if they shot him.
The Rainbow Farm Massacre
For over 5 years Rainbow Farm was the location of the best Pro-Hemp Festivals in the Mid-West. The 2-3 day festivals drew crowds of Drug Reform Activists that numbered literally in the thousands. Why I do some of what I do
DWR: Pete Guither May 19, 2009
Whenever I take apart one of Mark Kleiman's posts -- when I take him to task for understanding the failures of prohibition, yet being unwilling to consider drug policy reform points, or being unwilling to give up his "we can make prohibition work better" philosophy -- inevitably someone asks why I bother.
This is why.
In addition to his web journalism, Mark is one of the nation's leading drug policy experts. His book Against Excess remains an essential reference. So he ought to know.
It is precisely because Kleiman is widely considered an expert, and is extremely knowledgeable, that I must hold him to account when his blind spots cause him to lose the ability for rational thought.
[Note: Kleiman's referenced post is not bad in itself this time, other than the reflexive need to find away to mention his latest idée fixe/silver bullet at the end.]
Kleiman, ConPromising is a way of life or lack thereof.

Kleiman was Les Aspins boy, Father of Don't Ask Don't Tell. Now I don't have a dog in this fight, Being a happy hetero grand pa. I've been against every "Police Action" since Nam. But its bad policy and the same fear mongers against some drugs have abused this to remove more gays than before. Even stepping up discharges under Oblamo. Klintoon busted more pot users than Nexxon, Furd, Rayguns and Boosh.
Some serving 18 years with honors, many battles fought and millions in taxes spent training them to kill. But not enough for teachers or health care. Same bad policy makers, now making drug war policy. Iraq war on lies selling Rumsfeld's Searle Pharmaceuticals and Medical supplies. Asbetos Halliburton Cheney and Boosh Dyncorps getting rich while Demowhimps bow and lick their penny loafers.

The Fortune 700 club gossipers and timid donkey's making policy?
Re-hashed Klintoonians and Boosheney left overs. Vote for me and I'll set you free... Democowards and Doormats. Gitmos ok now, nimby's fear hurling teabags on each other, how weak they are. Best keep a symbol of hate and dispicible acts that go on routinly. Can't critique the spooks or old yeller journalists pop up like prairiedog heads. Super maxiepad prisons ain't good enough for so called "terrorists"? Same liars deeming them so, pretty quick, and still no 911 questions answered. So at best I'd say terror assumptions.
Wrestling a senior women with polio to the floor pointing an automatic weapon at her head for using Ganja to ease aches and pains. Thats terrorists. I think it was said after the rape by Boosheney, anythings better. One day Wallmart St's just fine, the next we're broke and now have layed off 5000 more teachers. Vices Are Not Crimes
"And here we come to the vital distinction between the advocacy of temperance and the advocacy of prohibition. Temperance and self-control are convertible terms. Prohibition, or that which it implies, is the direct negation of the term self-control. In order to save the small percentage of men who are too weak to resist their animal desires, it aims to put chains on every man, the weak and the strong alike. Nixon Lie Keeps on Killing
Twenty years of schoolin' and they put you on the day shift.
Look out kid they keep it all hid...
They're one in the same dude. Tools of the trade. The 7 deadly sins sold as bible aids. It's been so one sided, because they have tanks. Fighting the system with the system is supporting the system. Violence begets profits and debt to the victims. You kick his ass and the Insurance company gets rich. Sitting in traffic burns gas, more fill ups for the same distance traveled. All of these manufactured agendas serving the "thousand points of light". But those corporations are run by humans and us getting pay checks and buying the stuff.
When we start valuing each other instead of money and ego, then perpetuating the profits of this random "Police Action", with our cooperation, won't be necessary. As long as we overlook the truth to win a political game, we deal in insanity, the same as the reefer phobic calvinass. ConPromising with the laws of physics is babbling idiot stupid as witnessed by each Cheney Reed Walters or Infotainews blurb.
Lies remove reality and bargaining with liars and reforming lies logarithmically loosing our heritage. Dancing with the great BAR association or AMA drug traffickers. Judges who can't rule without a note from their man min mommies. Yes its a big fraud and we all pretend its real and sell our tanks and bullets and machetes. 5 heads on a post is more horrifying than the government murdering 4000+ Americans fighting in Iraq on a bold faced lie? In league with their corporate media Ganja fear mongering accomplices.
Violence is like the gerbils in their $200 Doc Martins spray painting buildings with crooked A's. Or lobbing bricks at random cars windshields. Providing profits and inconvenience to innocents trying to make it in the system to feed their kids and pay the mortgage. Not their profits, the DuPont spray paint and strip mined bauxite contaminating water supplies, to process into aluminum with hazardous waste byproducts sold as a dentrifice. Money to the Monsanto and Dow Corning, industrial strength chemical cleansers and Exxon and OPEC for the plastic spewing dioxins. The silica mines and trucks spewing more pollution, trashing ecosystems with make shift roads to get to the payload. Or just blow up the mountain top, take the coal and split.
Insurance will go up on everybody else and doing stupid acts with real victims, unlike toking doobies. Tends to eventually lead to a cage and few sympathize, but more profits for foreign private prisons, and strip mined ore razor wire, bars, badges and Billy Clubs. The followers of the instigators of war are taught ignorance, they're not really stupid. Some pass with flying colors pleasing the authoritah. To keep order and convenience, because in logical things it works. Painting lines helps keep cars separate, speed recommendations let you know how to make an informed decision. Slippery when wet.
Oppressing, stigmatizing, degrading, pisstasting, profiling, snitches and perjury don't fit Americans as Ganja doesn't fit as a schedule#1 dangerous menace to society. Hemp clothing and Ganja tokes react physically as anything made of atoms. Rules of nature aren't Bill Bennett cannabis censorship in school books. Or the Controlled some Substances that are politically incorrect Act. Or the larger manual labor pool Higher Education Ax and bust the Ganjawar Reform gatherings Joe bLIEdens RAVE Ax. Apples and oranges fit in the same hemp burlap sacks, "What" is prohibited by law is immaterial. Fill in the blank.
Teach cannabis and white powder reality. Medical supplies and Pills from corporate laboratories using all sorts of nasty acids and caustics and fillers and plastic and pyrex and burners pipettes and drug stores. Each with 5 side effects. More NAFTA sweatshops filling the Wallmart St factory outlets. Banksters receiving the bailouts and interest on the National Debt. Fighting "Police Action" black budget Ganjawars and "treating" the citizens. If we start shooting back, the war will end. We'll be stoned cold dead. Building locally and occasionally gathering millions of heads sitting, dancing and celebrating, peacefully passing bowls and doing Cannabis workshops and music educating the realities of WoD and the cornerstone Ganjawar.

White House Czar Calls for End to 'War on Drugs'?
Ah, Jeez, Not This Shit Again!
New Drug Czar Is Seeking Ways to Bolster His Hand
Published: Sunday, March 17, 1996
General McCaffrey knows a war when he sees one, first in Vietnam and more recently in the Persian Gulf, where he led the 24th Mechanized Infantry Division. So it seemed remarkable that during an hourlong interview in his Washington office, he avoided the cliche of a war on drugs.
"The analogy of cancer is far more adaptive and useful as a model to a way of thinking and talking about the problem," the general said.
Just Do What? By Jacob Sullum
McCaffrey has another metaphor up his sleeve: "He compares the drug problem to a cancer that requires treatment, cautioning listeners not to expect victory for at least 10 years."
"We've got a national campaign by drug legalizers, in my view, to try and use medicinal uses of drugs and legalization of hemp as a stalking horse to get in under the radar screen."
~ Gen. Barry McCaffrey - Former Drug Czar (Clinton)
How America Lost the War on Drugs
Ben Wallace-WellsPosted Dec 13, 2007
In 1996, less than a year into his term, the new drug czar met Jim Burke, a smooth-talking, silver-haired executive who chaired the Partnership for a Drug-Free America — the advertising organization best known for the slogan "This is your brain on drugs." "Burke personally was very hard to resist," one of his former colleagues tells me. "I've seen him sell many conservative members of Congress and also liberals like Mario Cuomo."

The longtime rallying cry of a ``war on drugs'' to describe the effort to curtail illegal drug use in the United States has become ``misleading'' the White House drug policy director says.
"The whole notion that someone could be a drug czar simply reflects ignorance of how the American Government works,"

CAPITOL UPDATE By John Lovell March 27, 2009
Law enforcement launched its major push against AB 390, Assembly Member Ammanio’s marijuana legalization bill. Police Chiefs all over the state contacted each member of the Assembly Public Safety Committee and urged members to reject this terrible proposal – a proposal that, among other things, would have lowered the penalties for selling marijuana to children from a felony to a mere infraction. Your calls made a huge impact.

OK lets wrap this Ganjawar thing up. Nixon lied to Congress and rejected his own tax paid study to start the Controlled Substance Act for greed and control, not helping kids. By including Hemp and Rx Ganja, not included in the 1937 Tax Act. He eliminated competition for fossil fools, trees, steel, paper, meat, dairy, plastic, lubricants and thousands of medicinal and health care products. While bloating the Prison/Police Industrial Complex, World Bankster interest and the Military. As well as our global stash of DEA officiates. Black budgets funding elections, coups and Contras. Could you order a better agenda for a few filthy rich to prosper at the expense of the blue collar labor pool. Gutting Fort Knox to pay off their trillion dollar gambling debts.. High unemployment is an incentive against whistleblowing. Dangling that j-o-b carrot like trickle down voodoo economics.

Prison slave labor is Constitutionally legal! Cheaper than the freight from Wallmart Streets China sweatshops. That is cheaper than made in the USA. Research is banned! 95% busted, cop a plea to avoid mandatory minimum sentencing deterrents to jury trials. Stigmatizing stoners for the very same applications as for racist stigmatizing or gender stigmatizing or any stigmatizing. For a means to an end. Can't keep someone down if they're innocent. Have to make em guilty or at least feel guilty or threatened. Absolutely nothing wrong with smoking Ganja. Thousand year old practice with no toxic reactions or deaths. Comparing it to chemical cigarettes is as false as the Gateway and Mo Potent than yo mama Grimm Fairytales.
Logical if family farms, Indians and poor Mexicans could grow Hemp and utilize the seed, oil and fiber as Canada and 30 other countries do. Spurting the textiles growth and a Willie Nelson biodiesel truckstop for local communities. They could sustain their villages and lessen the tax burden. Only threatening Ag Chem Biz and farm labor exploitation profits. Getting back to the traditional ways of organic food and natural fiber, not cottons 90 million pounds of poisons. Aborting more bible belt op rescue babies than Roe V Wade. OK for asbestos to cancerize US towns populations, DDT PCB Aspartame and Agent Orange drugs aren't even scheduled. Mental Illness and Drug Addiction aren't on most health insurance menu's. "Treatment" Asylums bars are as thick as prisons, without a crime even needed. Mandatory "treatment" is like getting answers from torture. Anything you say mon. 3000 kids raped in juvenile prison each year. PTSD isn't scheduled either. 7.4.9 D.C. Convergence
