I used to be very conservative. I was raised by conservatives and thought it was right. However, during this last election I started listening to other views as a way to defend my beliefs and came to realize that what I thought was true didn't make sense. I had never heard some the rationalizations for beliefs I wasn't raised with and I found they actually made sense to me. Now I am trying to be as open minded as possible about all issues. While I still believe in some things I did before, I will never again shut out other's views until I've given their ideas a fair chance.
