Demand US and European Co's Stop Supporting Deadly #Syria Net Surveillance

As you know, the United States has export control laws to prevent exports that hurt U.S. non-economic interests e.g. security. The long-held belief that the security of the United States is best served with concrete benefits, e.g. the 5th Fleet base in Bahrain or the oil supplies formerly available under the Shah of Iran, has not supported our security because the governments granting these benefits have not had majority support. Please recognize the value to U.S. long-term security of the friendship of the majority of people in each country, whether or not they are free to peacefully replace their government. Everyone is free to replace the government: some enjoy the benefits here, while others enjoy them in the hereafter.

Let it be universally recognized that travelers who are indicted should be promptly tried or released on reasonable bail, and that all travelers, unindicted or on bail and not to be promptly tried, should be at liberty to return home when they choose. Nothing bad can come from this. Nothing good can come from the opposite.
