I am the Resisting GI, an order given by my conscience. I work in the Middle East Country of Qatar as a Petroleum Engineer Consultant. In the mid 80s I honorably served in the U.S. Army, Army Reserves and the National Guard. In 1992, I picked up the hobby of studying constitutional law. My Oath to the Constitution, my hobby, a Declaration of War to Iraq March 17, 2003 without Congress and here I am, the Resisting GI.

There is a lengthy legal precedent going back to 1789 whereby a defendant can claim self-defense against an agent of the government if that act is deemed a defense against tyranny that guarantees my liberty. Liberty, in case you've forgotten, is a soul's right to breathe. When it cannot take a long breath, laws are girded too tight. Without liberty, man is a syncope.

Byron commented on the article |As stated, quality public defense provides protection against the conviction and punishment of innocent individuals. Well our innocent Resisting Soldiers of Conscience are being convicted by kangaroo courts-martial that do not have subject-matter jurisdiction to hear a soldier's defense, a defense that's already established in the Boston Federal Appellate Court! The latest soldier to go under the unconstitutional knife blade is Cliff Cornell, see http://www.resistinggi.com/UserFiles/File/Cliff%20Cornell.pdf HELP a Resisting Soldier of Conscience, Cliff Cornell, National Legal Aid & Defenders Association, and really get in the NEWS, otherwise, Cliff is looking at, plead guilty or else from all sides, and that includes his present so called legal defense!

What we are being fed (allegedly emphasis added for all of this) is mind control think-speak manipulation; the visually confirmed reports from Gaza state people were butchered in their homes, all the usual stuff that goes along with a genocidal holocaust. Let us not forget that one and a half million human soles were liquidated by the United States of America, its government and its military in the formal sovereign country of Iraq; between two and three million have been thusly dispatched terminated massacred in Afghanistan by the United States Government and its military in the same time frame. This is a species that is rapidly failing, or it is certainly being taken over with virtual completion by evil on the planet. What’s real and what isn’t real is an incredible daunting thing for anyone with good intentions to walk into to try to understand.
In the USSC case of Texas v. Johnson, 491 U.S. 397 (1989), the Court mentioned the importance of protecting free speech, especially speech that is unpopular or offensive to others. It said, “If there is a bedrock principle underlying the First Amendment, it is that government may not prohibit the expression of an idea simply because society finds the idea itself offensive or disagreeable.” -
Byron commented on the article |Well and good to give alleged terrorist aliens their civil rights by an initial trial in a federal court, but should we not give that right to our own Resisting Soldiers of Conscience to this alleged illegal war in Iraq; Soldiers that have a “FEDERAL QUESTION” subject matter reasonable doubt defense having as witnesses: 74 concerned law professors, at least six Congressmen, and other assorted prestigious witnesses. Resisting Soldiers of Conscience also do not get their day in a Federal Court as they are extorted into pleading guilty in a non-jurisdictional kangaroo court-martial that strips away civil rights! A Guantanamo treatment of our very own, many of which are veterans of the Iraq War! So set a priority and sweep our legal porch at home for our own soldiers first! Go to http://www.resistinggi.com/sections.php?id=9 the last section at the bottom and compassionately put your feet in the shoes of Muntadar al-Zaidi and throw them, the game is out! Imagine in your country of about 20 million that the deaths are way over a million and millions of others are refugees in neighboring states; to turn what has happened around; it would be like Russia during the Regan administration, invading, capturing and killing most of our Congress followed by hanging our president on Xmas!

Al-Zeidi could face two years imprisonment for insulting a foreign leader. When he threw the shoes, he shouted at Bush in Arabic, "This is your farewell kiss, you dog! This is from the widows, the orphans and those who were killed in Iraq." It is a symbolic resistance that will be punished that has won Al-Zeidi hero status in Iraq and throughout the Middle East and here at home among us activists against this unconstitutional war. There are American Resisting Soldiers including first hand experienced Resisting War Veterans who have been prosecuted for symbolically tossing their shoes at Bush and they are heroes too! It is a form of desperation, forced in a corner with your conscience and this internationally illegal & unconstitutional war; what a rush that would be to look at your shoes with a clean shot at you-know-who! What would you do?

Byron commented on the article |It is not about right or wrong when it comes to war, as war is always wrong! That is why our constitutional framers made certain requirements for war i.e. demanding that all Declaration of Wars come from the Congress ONLY! If you will remember on March 17, 2003, our president made the Declaration of War to Iraq!
Looking at the death, destruction and wasted money that war causes will always result in peace is right and war is wrong! So why waste time on what is already known? America has a Constitution and thus the only question about any American war is one. Was it constitutional or not? That question was asked from the United States Supreme Court about the Iraq War prior to its start within the Boston Appellate Court in Doe v. Bush (2003) and still is pending! Thus, the United States Supreme Court needs to answer that one ASAP with the last two appointed Justices sitting out! Anything else is a diversion to truth, justice and the American way!
