Eileen commented on the petition |Mercer is running a death camp for animals and living high as she profits from the murder of these innocents. This monster must be replaced by selfless people whose only concern is the best interests of the animals in their care, not how they can benefit from their deaths. Shame on Houston for allowing such atrocities to continue in this facility under the guise of being a "shelter". No animal unfortunate enough to wind up at Houston SPCA will find haven there. They will simply become yet another statistic as the bodies continue to pile up in this so-called "shelter". This hellhole is a disgrace and blackens the city's name. It is time to clean up this house of horrors and become a true animal shelter.
The first step is to give Mercer her walking papers. -

Eileen commented on the petition |He say he feared for himself and his family but is sounds like he went into his house, grabbed the machete (what is a minister doing with a machete?) and crossed the street to butcher this dog. Where was the immediate danger? And what's so scary about a little yellow lab? Apparently this is the third time this monster has attacked a dog. Why are the authorities doing nothing to protect the community and their animals from this machete-wielding lunatic? God forbid a child wanders onto his precious property. The pain and agony this poor dog suffered at the hands of his executioner must have been excruciating and no animal deserves to be tortured and slaughtered in such a manner -- at least not in a civilized society. Luis Ortiz, Mijo's guardian and a United States army veteran, deserves some answers and Mijo himself deserves justice for this senseless slaughter. It is your job to keep this neighborhood safe from a lawless barbarian who thinks he is immune from accountability. Someday, this so-called minister will have to answer to another judge but in the meantime, a jail cell will suffice.

In the end, the Ukraine will be remembered for its lack of compassion, decency and soul for allowing such an atrocity to occur in a vain attempt to "beautify" your country with the blood of innocents. If Romania does not wish to remain a backward third world country, it must adopt progressive and humane methods of population control of strays such as spaying and neutering, as the rest of the enlightened world does, instead of committing this senseless bloodbath. END this savage holocaust NOW!

Eileen commented on the petition |The production of foie gras is one of the most sadistic forms of torture against animals imaginable. There is no way to "humanely" produce this product of misery and no restaurant should support this shameful atrocity. I will boycott any establishment that sells this so-called “delicacy” that is the result of so much suffering. Show some decency and end your complicity in this most egregious form of animal cruelty now.
