For two decades I walked the path with a woman that was trying to escape from an abusive husband with her children. I have observed discrimination by law enforcement, crusading attorneys, negligent attorneys, corrupt attorneys and biased courts.
In 2000 my girlfriends fifth attorney deserted, it was at that time that I noticed that the Virginia State Bar had changed its ethical policies from addressing "strategy" failures to dismissing such failures. My girlfriend who was a probono client was sent her files from the deserting attorney and dismissed by the Bar and other members approached to address this issue.

Virginia also has the ignorant flat earther's also, the difference being that they are more discrete. Consider that lawyers and clergy argue over documents, law or religious - they both come from the same foundations. In the early 90's we ran into this pattern as we sat in a Virginia courtroom while an attorney read the Bible to the judge. "Born again" trumps "abused housewife" in Virginia.

Fear and the prisons is all about getting the gullible to hand over their money, siphoning tax dollars away from accountability, into private coffers. The goal of the Republicans is to create scams.
Because of their scams they want to ensure dysfunction in government, a functional government would result in oversight of their activities. It is for this reason that they are using ad hominem attacks against the Democrats. Even in dysfunction the Democrats spending would be in our house, helping improve our society - it would not be pouring into Empire building and private coffers.
In Virginia the Republicans have set the courts up to process and fleece its victims, guilt or innocence of a crime are irrelevant just how much can be taken from those in crisis. I was assaulted by the police after submitting to arrest in 2005, this assault occurred in a CVS pharmacy which had video cameras. I identified these cameras to my attorneys expecting them to at the minimum review the content, they did not, they claimed that the video would not matter in Virginia courts - due process ?
The attorneys took thousands of dollars, the courts took more, incarceration and gave me a record. How much of this activity that fed us into the system was outsourced to private companies or public run ?
The irony of the political environment is that after the Republicans neutered Democrat initiatives they will then claim that government is dysfunctional - except government that incarcerates those that disagree with them.
