I would encourage anyone to add more fresh fruits and vegetables to their diets. (I'm using the word "diet" to mean all the meals you eat, not a way of eating to lose weight.)
There's a fabulous cuisine that's developed using only fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds and herbs and spices as ingredients for all kinds of dishes, from simple to elaborate, fine-dining style. If you're lucky enough to live near a raw food (raw vegan) restaurant, you can try it out without having to prepare any meals. If you like puttering around in the kitchen, there are lots of raw food recipe books out there to try out. Ani Phyo's is a good place to start.
