Just because tormenting women is India's national sport, and has been ever since I can remember, does not mean that we will accept that melancholy truth. I sign this knowing that the reality is that hitting a woman in public still raises few Indian eyebrows (such as are raised wish first to know what the woman did to "deserve" such treatment. Sure she must have done SOMETHING?). Nevertheless one must persist in holding on to the fact that, in spite of our relentlessly misogynistic culture, women are - gasp - human beings. Perhaps if we keep repeating this, someday it'll penetrate.
Stop exploitation of young women and children. This is an urgent human rights issue. SPEAK UP for the rights and dignity of our sisters!
Absolutely no robbery of land or any other form of brigandage to set up the horror of nuclear power plants.
