Jo commented on the petition |The only way to stop this cruelty is to STOP BUYING EGGS ALTOGETHER. Even cage-free operations are abusive to animals. The birds have their beaks seared off, they often live in crammed warehouses among their own excrement, and are violently slaughtered when they are no longer profitable. Additionally, for every egg-laying hen, there is a dead male chick who has been killed at the hatchery. This is called "chick culling" (Google it) and every single egg farm - whether it is local, organic or a factory farm - participates in this standard practice. There's no reason for humans to consume chicken eggs -- Please look into it for yourselves...
