Hello Julio Cesar Martinez.
Now you have a perfect example of how the law works when it works as designed. Don't blame us for your parents failings. If they had done the correct thing and followed the law there would not be a problem. You were not born here and are here in violation of our laws. Go away and if you want to come back do it the legal way. Or Not!
I am forever amazed at the people here that will line up in support of what ever group is operating on the wrong side of the law yet ignore the people that obey it.
I know some will not agree but many will and we will win in the end.
Phil
English only in America is the only way to operate. It is about time we dropped all the steps we take to welcome people to this country without requiring them to become part of it. The principal should be placed in charge of all schools and the secretary should be required to apologize to her for violating the rules.
If you do not like it go back to where you came from.
Hello
I am one of those people that has no health care, am unable to work and unable to find free care because I still live in a house with my sister. The house does not belong to me but living in it with my sister costs me dearly. If I was homeless I could get some level of care but not while I have a place to stay. Medicare is the only working health care system there is in this country. They do a much better job of providing service to people that need it than any private insurance company ever did for me. I have applied to Social Security for benefits and with any luck I will live long enough without care to be helped by them. The point is I have worked all my adult life and when I for the first time ever needed assistance I am refused any help of any kind. I can assure you that the costs to treat me a year from now will be much higher than they would be today because my illness will be worse. I am so tired of the Washington anti universal health care groups using scare tactics and mis-information to try and derail universal health care. The time has come to try something new! We have suffered under the current system so lets change and try something, anything new. America it is time to let our elected officials know that if they do not pass true health care reform this year that we will get that grass roots movement out of the box again and send them packing at election time. Then we need to do it. As long as they feel safe in office they will never take a chance on change. Wake up America and lets put some fear in those elected officials and demand they do the correct thing this time!!
Philip L. McCleary
Our elected officials will never pass a universal health care package as long as they have the free health services they currently have. We have tried the private insurance way and it has failed for all but the very rich so lets change it. We need to get that grass roots movement that elected our first black president in high gear and let all of our elected officials know we will vote them out of office if they vote against universal health care. Then we need to do it if they fail us. I do not want to hear from the old goats in the republican party that it will doom us to failure. I was a republican and still am but I can not support the party line any more. They no longer represent what I want or what I stand for. I am ashamed of my party and will no longer support the party line. Yes I voted for our current president because my party could not come up with a presidential candidate or running mate worth voting for. And before somebody makes an assumption about me I am white and 53 years old. I have been around long enough to see trickle down economics ruin this country. Its time to take the country back. Wake up the grass roots movement again America!!
Well you know there is another side to this problem. States are forced to house and support inmates at a great cost to the tax payers. If the state can recover some of this cost by charging for phone calls then so be it. I view the lack of communication to be just one more point of punishment for the crime. If I was in charge the inmates would work for all that they receive. Yes it is a problem for families but we do allow visitation and if the cost of phoning is too high then they can visit or write a letter. The states have a job to do so let them do it as they see fit.
Hello Monica
The skinheads and KKK will not be the ones left it will be the muslims. Just think under the rule of muslim law females will not have opinions because they will never be taught to read or write this an example of what a special class gets you.
The debate is this simple. If you make a group of people a protected class and then provide special legal protections for them you have removed due process from all other non class members. In short you have created a barrier to free speech and opened a door to injustice for all non class members. Judge the crime using laws on the books now. All someone has to say is he called me a "fill in what have hate based wording you like" and now I am going to be punished for my "WORDS" not a crime. Murder is murder irregardless if I like the person or hate the person. Murder is murder if the person is white, black, gay, Indian or whatever tag you wish to use. The victim is just as dead and the law should only look at the crime and not what class that person belongs to. Yes there are extenuating circumstances and they can be used to increase the punishment for a crime, these circumstances apply to all persons. Opening this door in our legal system is one step closer to adding thought crime to the books and we do not wish to go there. I for one think its nice to hold and expound on what ever opinion I wish to have without having to worry about the government arresting me for what I think and say. I like to argue sometimes for the sake of arguing and think that's what the founding fathers intended.

I stand by my post. Calling September 11th a hate crime and placing the hijackers in a special class does nothing but encourage these type of actions. You are correct "the hijackers on September 11th didn't simply commit manslaughter" they committed murder, armed hijacking, torture, theft of property, wire fraud and so on but creating special class to charge them with adds nothing, a victim is a victim. Using the "Hate Crime" argument should we have also made a ,separate charge if there were members of a protected class on board? I think not. All crime hurts more than just the victim, again no need for a special class. I worked in law enforcement for 20 years and I can assure you there is no difference between a beaten, stabbed, murdered male/female and a beaten, stabbed, murdered "Gay" male/female for example. Making a special class of victims leads to just that a special group that is entitled to special treatment. I will never agree with you but I am honored to be able to argue the point.
Thanks
Phil
There is no such thing as a "Hate Crime" it is simply a crime. Giving people special protection is wrong. If I assault someone it is just that an assault. The assault should not be judged any different because I beat up a black, Latino or gay person. Giving special status to a group of people sets the stage for special privilege. By example the complete failure of affirmative action programs in this country. Special people got special treatment and became special failures. Let really treat every one the same and do away with special treatment.
