This is one issue that both we on the right and the leftists can agree on! The idiot thug currently in the White House is estimated to have over a billion dollars to campaign with, mostly from large corps getting special favors, and/or funding from from the mob of jackasses working for this clown!

we do not need fannie / freddie buying mortgages. that is how we got here. it was this and outside pressure from government to make more loans that pressured / coaxed banks to make these easy money loans. get govt. out of this, let banks fail, let borrowers fail, close down fannie / freddie, the recovery will begin only then.

Don't drag seniors into this, most of us would give up our house before we would drag our country down expecting a handout because we took a mortgage without being able to pay it.

Barbara,so many more are people who never should have gotten a mortgage in the first place, or people who unwilling to work 2 or 3 jobs, or people who are afraid to get dirty on a job. We make up whatever nonsense we want, but we all have eyes and ears, and we all know this was caused by fannie and freddie easy money. We need to allow the housing market to crash, prices to drop to the bottom, bad banks to fail, and then and only then will a true recovery get underway. Stupidity is synonym of compassion. My compassion is for the working person being forced to underwrite the stupid and the lazy.

No Kathleen, just tired of having to make up the difference for freeloading idiots who think money is magic! Banks who loaned to people unworthy of a mortgage deserve to go under. Easy lending caused this, If we cannot learn that then we will never get out of this mess.

Edwin, First of all, i would like to welcome you to America. All are welcome, regardless of IQ. Now that you are here you may want to pick up a copy of the constitution. It is a written document that gives government recognition of God given indivudual rights. In this country we protect the right of free speech,ESPECIALLY offensive speech. The right of free speech is not there only to protect your right to say "Duh, puppies are cute!". It does not exist to protect only the speech of a leftist totalitarian like the author of this piece. Koala sounds disgusting. I would not choose read it. Americans stand by the publishers rights to publish it.
