  It's O(bama)fficial: Greenhouse Gases Threaten Public Health

  Although most of think of green house gases as originating from man made sources and fossil fuels, one of the future's biggest source, if not already, of green house gases is a result of global warming itself. The huge tundra mass of Siberia and Canada, which has been frozen for thousands of years is beginning to thaw and will release thousands of cubic tons of green house gases in the not so distant future as a result of decaying organic matter that has been previously preserved organic matter locked away in permafrost. Mother Nature's deep freezer has had it's plugged pulled and it won't be pretty.

  Trains, Plans, and $13 Billion Bucks

  Unlike Japan and France, the US is a huge country. France is the size of Texas and its citizen prefer to take the train because of the price. Further more, large metropolitan cities in Japan and France are much closer, some only an hour apart. Americans will not use the high speed rail system because the airlines in the US are deregulated, the cites are too far apart and Americans want to arrive at their destination NOW. A few of the high speed corridors will work, SF-LA, Washington-Boston.

  Ten Ways to Make a Difference for LGBT Rights

  Many same-sex coupled partners are employed by the US government, domestically and overseas. Yet, federal benefits to same-sex family members are denied, such as; survivor benefits and medical insurance. If you are a federal employee overseas and have a partner living with you, your housing benefits are halved. Many of the US State Department policies are gay unfriendly and are discriminatory.
