Autism is usually identified by the child's social and behavioral flaws before the age of three. Etiologies are suspected, primarily genetic in nature, yet there is no known cure for Autism. How one with Autism progresses thoughout their lifespan varies widely. Some can live independly, yet most cannot. Some have savant abilities, which puzzles neurologists in particular.
Autism is a brain development disorder, and not a medical condition.
