Heather Kangas

I'm a college student. Currently I am a Junior at Towson University and a double major in Political Science and Metropolitian Studies. I hope to be a community organizer when I graduate!

I have been Co-Organizing Directror of the Progressive Democrats of Towson for a year and counting. Our organization works to promote progressive issues and changes. Currently PDOT has a focus on health care ( yay HR 676!), ending the Iraq War, anti-oppression work, and education reform. I am also on the steering committee for the Towson Energy Actvists where we are advocating for state and national changes in energy policy. I am on the State Council for the Maryland Student Climate Coalition (a coalition of high school, community college, college, and research students in MD!).

When I'm not going to class or organizing I enjoy long walks (especially in cities!), music, swimming, any outdoor activity!
