  Yeah this is curious to me as well.  I live in the Twin Cities and have family and friends up in Fargo & Grand Forks, so I have been trying to follow the flood news.  I have had those same thoughts that it seems this situation is being handled so far much better than Katrina and such.  Trying to assume the best - maybe we learned things from Katrina and are thus implementing them - but I can't help but wonder if it is not classism/racism!?  I mean we'll really see what's what in the aftermath, if God forbid things do get worse and mass home destruction is upon us, will these ppl be left to fend for themselves like those in the South or not.
