Little Baby Face Foundation

Mission

The Little Baby Face Foundation (LBFF) transforms the lives and faces of children born with facial deformities through corrective surgery. World-class surgeons and medical providers at the finest facilities in NYC volunteer their time to provide the best corrective surgery and medical care to these kids who are in financial need worldwide. We arrange travel to and from New York City for these kids to undergo needed corrective surgical procedures.

Programs

One in every 740 children is born with a facial deformity - many with multiple birth defects - such as a cleft lip/palate, facial paralysis, missing or malformed ears (microtia), and malformed ear canals (atresia). More than one in five of these children also have multiple medical complications such as hearing loss, dental or breathing or feeding complications.

The isolation and ridicule felt by a child born with a facial deformity is extremely painful and emotionally scarring. Many of these kids can have a normal appearance and live normal lives following surgery. Yet too many never get this chance because they and their families lack enough money for treatment or can't find doctors in their community to treat them. We are committed to seeing that every one of these children can access life changing, high quality medical treatment.

History

Since our founding in 2002, more than 100 children born with facial deformities have had their lives and faces changed with help from the LBFF. These kids, ages four to eighteen, have come from seven states and eight countries. In addition, the foundation provides medical information about facial deformities to families and healthcare providers and supports related research.
