The Editor and Publications Manager reports to the Director of Editorial and Marketing Services within the Education and Public Affairs Department.
Responsibilities
The Editor and Publications Manager is responsible for editing a wide variety of publications and texts created for educational purposes such as fact sheets, online newsletters, and brochures. She or he is also responsible for managing the production of Lambda Legal's print publications including our Impact magazine, produced three times per year; Annual Report; and educational booklets and toolkits. This includes working with a team of people to conceive of the publications' content and design, editing and helping to write publications, and managing the design and printing process.
Qualifications
We seek a professional with 3-5 years of editorial experience that includes all the stages of production. Applicants must have excellent editing and writing skills and experience in developing and producing publications as well as in producing content for use online. Some experience with legal matters is helpful. Applicants should have a demonstrated commitment to the civil rights of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender people and people living with HIV.
Compensation
Salary is commensurate with experience within the guidelines of Lambda Legal's compensation scale. Excellent employer-paid benefits include medical, dental, life and long term disability insurance and employer contribution to retirement account.
