Vice President of Organizing
Want to hire and lead a team of 10 full-time online organizers running advocacy campaigns on a daily basis in collaboration with hundreds of leading progressive groups and with the support of 150 bloggers and more than 1 million activists?
Change.org is hiring a Vice President of Organizing to oversee all activism across Change.org, the fastest growing platform for social change on the web.
The Vice President of Organizing will:
- Hire a team of 10 full-time online organizers over the next 12 months;
- Work with their team of organizers to identify opportunities for launching rapid-response campaigns aligned with the news cycle across our 15 causes;
- Collaborate directly with Change.org's editorial team to advance each campaign through our media platform, and identify opportunities for using investigative reporting to break new stories that can be turned into campaigns and increase pressure on campaign targets;
- Support Change.org's growing list of more than 75 progressive nonprofit clients in creating, testing, and optimizing their longer-term advocacy campaigns for syndication across the Change.org network;
- Manage an email list of more than 1 million Change.org members, which is currently growing at an accelerating rate of more than 100,000 new members a month.
As a member of Change.org's executive team, the Vice President of Organizing will also help define our overall organizational strategy and plans for continued growth of membership and impact.
Applicants should have experience with strategizing and executing online advocacy campaigns, an interest in rapid-response campaigning, experience testing and segmenting a large email list, a willingness to take risks and innovate, and an excitement about working in an ambitious, fast-moving, and entrepreneurial environment.
Although this is a management position, applicants must be willing to roll up their sleeves and perform the same tasks that will be conducted by the team of organizers they will manage – writing and editing action alerts, running analytics on campaigns, and conducting media outreach to pressure the targets of campaigns.
Pay and benefits are highly competitive. This position can be held in Washington, DC or New York City.

Online Organizers
Want to run your own rapid-response advocacy campaigns on a daily basis across a range of progressive causes with the support of more than 100 bloggers and 1,000,000 activists?
Change.org is hiring a team of 5 full-time online organizers/campaigners to craft, promote, and advance measurable change with advocacy campaigns for its 15 causes.
Each organizer will:
- Oversee all online advocacy for 2-3 major causes on Change.org;
- Collaborate with Change.org's expanding team of bloggers and editors to identify opportunities for creating effective grassroots campaigns on a daily basis;
- Support Change.org's growing list of more than 75 progressive nonprofit clients in creating, testing, and optimizing their national advocacy campaigns for syndication across the Change.org network;
- Write online petitions and email action alerts;
- Spread the word about newsworthy campaigns through social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter;
- Use offline means when necessary to advance campaigns and pressure targets, including phone calls and press outreach.
Applicants should have experience with crafting and executing online advocacy campaigns, great writing and communication skills, and a hunger to work hard in a fast-paced environment focused on breaking actions. We welcome applicants of all ages – from young online organizers eager for more responsibility to seasoned veterans looking to run a more diverse array of campaigns.

Nonprofit Services Manager
Change.org is hiring a Nonprofit Services Manager to serve as the primary point of contact for a select group of our more than 75 leading progressive nonprofit clients, helping them run successful online advocacy campaigns across Change.org's rapidly growing network of more than 1 million activists and 50 media partners.
Our clients span a wide range of issues and include such organizations as Amnesty International, Environmental Defense Fund, Oxfam America, Drug Policy Alliance, Save Darfur Coalition, Consumers Union, NARAL Pro-Choice America, Defenders of Wildlife, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and The ONE Campaign.
The Nonprofit Services Manager will:
- Directly manage nonprofit client relationships and marshal all necessary resources within Change.org - from our team of organizers, editors, and outreach staff - to successfully serve their needs;
- Help create online campaigns in collaboration with and on behalf of clients, including writing and editing petitions and action alerts;
- Oversee the performance of each campaign, including testing content and messaging, analyzing results, and optimizing for improved performance;
- Ensure client satisfaction and the success of client campaigns;
- Strategize with Change.org’s executive team about how to continue to expand our nonprofit services.
Candidates should have previous experience in at least one of the following: online advocacy, fundraising, or nonprofit consulting/services. Regardless of experience, we are looking for a passionate, hard-working, organized, and detail-oriented person who has strong communication and writing skills and wants to be part of a fast-moving and ambitious organization working for progressive change.
