If you support the DREAM Act, you need to MARCH and RALLY on MAY 1.
Lets all spend the next 10 days pulling out all the stops to make sure that this year's May 1 National Day of Action is big, bold and loud.
We can win the DREAM Act, stop the cutbacks in public education [here in LA we're facing more than 5000 teachers and staff being laid off], put a halt to ICE raids and deportations and demand an end to the second class education provided to black and brown students if we stand up, raise our voices and march on May 1.
Three years ago, millions of us marched in cities across the country to defeat HR4437. We won. We have power if we decide to use it.
On May 1, if you're in the LA area, be at City Hall at noon. If you are in the Oakland/Bay Area, the march starts at 10am - gather at corner of High St. and International Blvd.
Otherwise, find out what plans are going on in your area. A small, dedicated group of people can do a lot in 10 days to pull together a rally or a march or a speak out for May 1.
