I see so many people saying community service, but where? I think that they should be forgiven for teacher's, if you say teach inner city children, or if you have a accounting degree and volunteer to work with so many citizens that can't afford to have them done and don't know how.
Maybe you can have a certain percent of your ORIGINAL taxes that are taken out of your paycheck go to the lenders.
This is tough, because who is going to pay them off to the original lenders, (i.e. Sallie Mae)?
I just depleted my savings account to get my student loan out of collections to get another student loan and I am in a dire financial situation now because of that!

Hi, Jennifer, I agree with the people who consider the community services as a choice to resolve the student loans. The idea of "forgive student loans" has to be applicable for those working in the non-profit sector, working in the inner city, those who are advocating for the children and the elderly benefits and those teachers who had been working with children living in poverty and help them to succeed. Under this economic situation it will be a solution for those who wanted and want to make the difference in the society and help the country to reach its goals.
