This is some what humorous in regard to voting, but it has some merit. We can't seem to get voting right. We lose votes, set up costly elections, we have recounts, individuals can't track their votes to make sure they are recorded properly, the equipment malfunctions, it is a complicated or inconvenient process to vote early or on time, these are just a few of the problems. we just don't seem to get it right.
But then there is lottery tickets. I have never heard of a lottery ticket being lost or misread. Anyone can play 24 hours a day from 1000s of places in any town. A ticket can be looked up on the Internet checked and rechecked. Anyone of any ability, can use and play the lottery. I have never heard of a hanging chad in the lottery business. I have never heard of a recount. The accounting and machinery seem to be infallible. People pay to vote for their favorite numbers.
If we could vote on a lottery ticket using lottery technology wouldn't we fix all the problems of our current voting system? Offer a lottery play (as an option) and that should be worth a dollar (used to pay for the election). If no play is chosen, vote for free.
