Call the Honorable David Scott, chairperson of the House Agriculture subcommittee on Livestock, Dairy and Poultry, 202-225-2939 by March 20th and let them know that you are against NAIS.
USDA nor Congress has determined the costs of NAIS, yet each farmer or owner of even one animal will be forced to register with the federal government their real property, (Premise ID number), chip or tag all animals and report all movements, births, deaths and off premise movement within 24 hours to a private data base. USDA is also taking steps to back door NAIS by forcing premise registration by making it mandatory for health programs like Scrapie in sheep and Coggins testing in horses.
NAIS was designed by corporate interests for corporate interests not by or for family farmers.
Be sure to call to register your opposition today.
